--- title: Episode 1: Concrete, carpets and creativity description: Following on from the great stories from the Things I Wish Knew Then at ICE Conference we are so happy to welcome our new bloggers Fortitude Johnson and Felicity Thompson who are sharing some great stories (some true) via their WhatsApp group from a recent event. image: https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hubfs/15%20ways%20to-2.jpg --- [![ICE Blog](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Ice%20BLOG%20(Blog%20Banner).jpg?width=2240&height=1260&name=Ice%20BLOG%20(Blog%20Banner).jpg "ICE Blog")](https://ice-hub.biz) # Going Live In.... ## [Episode 1: Concrete, carpets and creativity](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/blog/goinglive1) 11/22/22 10:10 AM / by [Fortitude Johnson and Felicity Thompson](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/blog/author/fortitude-johnson-and-felicity-thompson) Welcome to the wonderful world of Foster Fischer and Simmonds LLP events where life is lived in a world without windows and WhatsApp chat groups. The in-house events team, led by the unflappable and heroic Emma, is organising the jewel in the crown of the events calendar, the Annual New Partner Celebration. Perfection at every turn is the only way forward as Emma’s key business stakeholder, Anna Ferguson, has ambitions not just for a celebration to remember, but also for her own centre stage performance. ### **Going live in** **…..** **….8 days, 16 hours and 23 mins**   ![Episode 1 Blog States](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Episode%201%20Blog%20States.jpg?width=648&height=365&name=Episode%201%20Blog%20States.jpg) After months of planning, tears, tantrums, never-ending scope changes, long days and nights, crazy requests and back-stabbing colleagues, the team finally arrive at the venue in Rome to set up. They are aided and abetted by external agency Magical! Productions and their account director Flo, as well as the dubiously helpful Harriet from venue sourcing and outsource events partner, DDT.  It’s problem solving on steroids as Emma looks to go over, under, round or through anything in her path on the final push to ‘go live’.  Failure is not an option; her professional life depends on it. ![Page 1 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%201%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%201%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 2 - jpeg-1](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%202%20-%20jpeg-1.jpg?width=710&height=1004&name=Page%202%20-%20jpeg-1.jpg) ![page 3 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/page%203%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=page%203%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 4 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%204%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%204%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![page 5 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/page%205%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=page%205%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 6 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%206%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%206%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 7 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%207%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%207%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 8 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%208%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%208%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 9 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%209%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%209%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![page 10 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/page%2010%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=page%2010%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![page 11 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/page%2011%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=page%2011%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 12 - jpeg-1](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2012%20-%20jpeg-1.jpg?width=711&height=1005&name=Page%2012%20-%20jpeg-1.jpg) ![Page 13 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2013%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%2013%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 14- jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2014-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2480&height=3507&name=Page%2014-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 15 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2015%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2479&height=3508&name=Page%2015%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 16 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2016%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2479&height=3508&name=Page%2016%20-%20jpeg.jpg) ![Page 17 - jpeg](https://iceblog.ice-hub.biz/hs-fs/hubfs/Page%2017%20-%20jpeg.jpg?width=2479&height=3508&name=Page%2017%20-%20jpeg.jpg) Stay tuned for episode 2....
